Message to Potters Bar East postal voters 13 April 2025 from Jonathan Edward Meldrum, election candidate
I’m one of the five candidates for Potters Bar East running
for the County Councillor elections this 1 May, writing a message aimed
at postal voters in this area who, like me, have likely received their postal
ballot yesterday (Saturday 13/04/25) and have the option of casting a vote
immediately.
In short - before deciding who you’d like to vote for,
please consider waiting until I’ve published my initial list of County Hall
priorities for Potters Bar.
Postal voters also have the option of bringing the completed
postal ballot pack, and those of up to 5 others, into the polling station on 1
May.
I decided only two weeks ago to run, in order to publicise
two issues under County’s remit, which I think are key to our well-being
locally, and yet not widely understood.
Deciding to do so, reminded me of some of the many wishes
I’ve had, for improvements locally and county-wide, in the 15 years since I
worked full-time at County Hall, as an entry-grade finance assistant; and
provoked new ideas too.
I hope to put out a pamphlet and webpage over the next week,
and apologise for their absence.
I’ve only had the last week to prepare, while working at a charitable advice agency volunteer job, and recovering from a busy
family holiday abroad!
As someone as susceptible as anyone, to finding myself down
a online rabbit-hole, I hope others may understand, if I avoid engaging
much personally online, at the very least until I’ve published the pamphlet
and/or webpage.
